The Brits are so much more sophisticated than Americans. They don't depend on curse words or nasty to get a reaction. Just look at the American "Office". It was angry, ugly and mean. American productions are the worst, so low brow.

Ricky Gervais is consistently funny. Larry David isn't, except perhaps to some Americans who mistake selfishness for humor and for Seinfeld.

As clever and talented as Ricky Gervais is, he still comes across as smug and self-absorbed. He seems to love himself unconditionally, which is probably true, and for those of us with an acerbic and stoic nature, a bit repulsive. Down with this clown.

It’s funny to watch this back listening to him talk about crow barring things in knowing that most of Ricky’s bits came from XFM and he’s just recycled them throughout his career.

I can’t find Larry on Howard Stern talking about his time in the Army Reserve, during Vietnam. Just totally nuts trying to get an emotional discharge. Someone with the authority, agreed he had no business in the military in any form. But heck, he made it through basic training, which is an accomplishment. Then a few weekends of drill.

Love both of these guys, but I can't help feeling disappointed by how reserved Larry is about complementing Ricky. It would have been nice to see some admiration reciprocated. Larry comes across self-centred in this respect, which is a shame. Love his willingness to be brutally honest and his grumpiness, but it would be nice to see him actually be a nice, warm guy in real life.
